Harry Potter & National Champion
On Monday, I watched the NCAA XC National Championships. Liberty had both Sam Chelanga and Evans Kigan running in the mens race. Sam ended up winning for the second year in a row after dropping a kick in the last 500m. It was really exciting to watch and it will be fun next week when he gets back and we all get to celebrate. Evans finished 31st which wasn't a great race for him but he did earn All-American status. Liberty runners have now won 3 out of the last 4 individual national championships and a top 2 place finish in the last four years. Way to go Sam.
Also last Friday I went and saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 with Dell and Dad. I must say I thought it was amazing and really enjoyed it. I really want to go see it again but I'll have to wait until it comes to the dollar theater. I can't wait for the last movie to come out next July around my birthday.
Other News in Short:
Soul business has been pretty slow, we are looking forward to Black Friday when people will be in shopping frenzies. So we will see how that goes.
Last night we watched How to Train Your Dragon after work, that also was a good movie, I recommend it.
Zach hacked my facebook account and changed my birthday to November 23rd so I had people telling me happy birthday today on facebook.
I watched the new Chuck episode that came out yesterday, it was another good one! This season is defiantly good.
And that is the life of Jarred Cornfield currently

Thanksgiving, Harry Potter, and Chuck
So this was one of the first weekends that I had where I had very little homework and I didn't have to run either so it was pretty relaxing. On Friday, Andrew, Ryan, and I watched Harry Potter 1-4 followed by 5-6 on Saturday and we are now ready for the new Harry Potter to come out in Wednesday. Also on Saturday, Zach, Spencer, Andrew, Ryan and I went down to the Tilley and played some 2 on 2 basketball which was pretty fun (we don't take it that seriously).
Sunday Night we had Thanksgiving dinner for the XC team, oh man it was so good. The food was excellent with Turkey, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, marshmallows and potatoes, amazing desserts as well. It was a fun night, we all just talked and spent time together.
Sam and Evans qualified for the NCAA Division 1 Championships after going 1-2 at the SouthEast Regional meet which was pretty exciting. Josh Edmonds placed 15th to earn all-region and Jenn Clugh finished 15th in the Womens race to also gain all-region.
I am excited to see what God has in store for Indoor Track and I am getting antsy to start running again but I am being patient. I have been trying to give my whole life to God in every way and the same goes with my running and I am just excited to see what God does with me this winter, and not what I can do myself.
In terms of the Chuck picture, I officially have Zach completely hooked on Chuck, he watched the entire 3rd season in 26 hours this weekend so he is almost caught up with the 4th season and a new episode comes out on Tuesday which I am pretty excited for, things are starting to heat up with Chuck.
I have 2 exams this week and a paper due on Friday but I am excited for break and to spend some time not doing school work. I think I am going to go to Indiana for Nationals to cheer on Sam and Evans which should be fun, don't know all the plans for that yet.
Also I am excited for December 12th, I am going to a Relient K Christmas Acoustic concert with David, Dan, and Josh McDougal so that should be really fun!
Just excited to see what God has planned!

Whats coming up in the life of Jarred Cornfield
Okay so my cross country season is officially over, I did a 1500m time trial today at practice and now I have some time off of running to recover and get ready for Indoor Track. The time trial went pretty well, I led most of it until Isaac just took off with 400m to go, I ended up running a 4:02 which is about a 4:20 conversion for the mile. It was a pretty good time trial I was pleased with it knowing that I ran that off of cross country training only. So I am pretty excited about track now and what God has in store for me in the upcoming months of running. We had a track meeting the other day at the Indoor Track and it was really cool to meet there and see the throwers working, and sprinters working on form, and jumpers doing their drills, and just knowing that the track is Liberty's and that is the school I represent. It is just really cool having our own track and knowing that it will become home.
So I have off of running the rest of this week, and I will be doing core and some strength training stuff but no running. Saturday I am participating in a golf tournament with Zach, David, and Josh (McDougal). So that should be really fun, then on Sunday we have a cross country team thanksgiving dinner at Hailey's house which should be really fun! So looking forward to a good weekend, I feel a little bit ahead of my homework which is a good feeling, I have finished one of my classes so I only have 3 classes on Tuesday/Thursdays which is so nice. Then I have my morning class for Tuesday/Thursday ending next Thursday which will be so nice.
Lately in my bible reading, I have been reading through a Proverbs each day, and then the last few days I have done also a chapter of Ephesians along with that. I have been thinking about the word wisdom a lot as it is a major theme in Proverbs. I have thought about Wisdom and been trying to apply it to my everyday life and just trying to remind myself to think before acting and speaking and trying to seek the wisest decision and act and that it would Glorify God. Also I have been really awed by a couple of verses that speak of God's wisdom and it is hard to even comprehend His wisdom. Proverbs 3:19-20 says, "The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew". So I have been really thinking about wisdom and how I can apply it to my life and how awesome God's wisdom is which I can not comprehend.
Well I am in study hall so I should probably work

UVA
Well this was after our race, we were all quite tired and we were just looking at the clouds trying to find animal shapes and such, (left to right, Zach, me, Will, Isaac)
We all got really excited when we saw a dinosaur in the sky!!
This is all the team who went yesterday, there were 6 girls and four of us guys, this was all of us after the race.
Coach, Isaac and me getting ready before the race.
This is the view from our bus, we were at a farm.
Will was very excited for the race.
This was the prank we pulled on Drew Edwards' car when we got back, it took us a few minutes to do it, but it was priceless.
The race didn't go that well, it was okay but time wise it didn't turn out like I wanted. It felt strange just because there was barely any of the team there and also because there were not that many guys in the race. We went out in the first mile at 5:13 which felt pretty slow, then we went through 2 miles at 10:40, and the 3 mile split was 16:15. It was a pretty challenging course, a lot of ups and downs, it was extremely rolling with a pretty tough long hill right after the 4k mark. I didn't feel very good the last 3k, I couldn't stay with Isaac and Zach passed me at about 6k. I kept Zach within 5 seconds but couldn't bring him back. My legs just felt very heavy and tight. So the race itself wasn't great, but my main goal was the Glorify God with my race no matter the result and that is what I was doing. I have a 1500m time trial on Tuesday which should be interesting, and then I am taking a little time off. My body is just pretty achy today, I did a 5 mile run this morning. Just relaxing the rest of the day.
This season has been a good transition season, although I didn't come out with any crazy results I still have been growing a lot and becoming more experienced. The 8k distance is pretty tough to adapt to but I am getting there. This season has made me very excited for next year, I know I have to step it up a lot in order for us to repeat as Conference Champions and that is what I want to do. I know that I will have to run a lot more miles next summer and I am ready and willing to do whatever I can to get faster.
For Indoor Track, I've talked to Coach a little bit, I know my first race will be January 21-22, I will be racing a 4x800m at Virgina Tech with Isaac, Sam and Jordan/Drew. I am very excited and hoping to have a great season.
